Motto - Gift Registry

The information you give us will be confidential - Information gathered by Motto in the course of its activities is used exclusively in the management of Gift Registries and the processing of orders placed with Motto. Motto does not sell, rent or otherwise trade any of its Guest’s personal information.

Setting up a Gift Registry - By setting up a Gift Registry, Registrant(s) are accepting the Terms and Conditions laid down herein Motto undertakes to provide the service as defined in its documentation and web pages. The agreement forms, the entire agreement, and any other Terms agreed between the parties must be agreed in writing.

Product Representation - Any product representation that Motto makes is expressed as an opinion only and Motto cannot accept any liability for representation that is made with regards to suitability, quality, fitness or purpose etc.

Consultation - There is no charge from Motto for a phone consultation, but your service provider may apply long distance charges.

Gift purchase - Purchases of gifts will only be accepted with payment. Motto accepts cheques and major credit and debit cards, which will be debited at the time the order is placed. Notification to Registrant of any gift purchased will only be made after payment has been received by Motto for that gift.

Prices - All prices are listed in Canadian dollars. Motto reserves the right to amend prices where necessary without notice. The purchase price does not include taxes unless otherwise stated.

List closing - The Registrant will make note to agree on the date that the Gift List will close. In the 12 months following the closing date, the Registrant must complete the gift registry process and confirm gifts to be received. Motto makes no guarantee that requested items are available at time of completion. If there is no reply or any reason for inactivity from registrants within 12 months of closing the registry, all orders from suppliers are cancelled and a Motto Credit of the gift list value is given. Registrants will also be charged a Registry Holding Fee of $50 for every month after the 12 month deadline.

Final order - Only when payment is received will Motto order the items purchased. Once the list is closed and any amendments are made, the gift list will be scheduled for a one-time delivery, except for those items labeled prior to as special delivery gifts. 

Items needed prior to the event (Special Delivery Gifts) - Any items needed prior to the event must be specified as Special Delivery Gifts at the time of setting up the Gift Registry. These items are limited and discretionary and are subject to supplier’s availability. Delivery dates are also subject to availability. There is a special delivery charge per item per delivery date. Determination of price is entirely within Motto’s discretion.

Delivery - Registry - Motto services Downtown Toronto, Midtown, North York Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, and Markham. If the delivery destination is outside these specified areas, additional charges will apply. Please call Motto to obtain a quote. As they are received, the goods are collated, checked, packed and delivered to the address specified by Registrant, at a time and date convenient to both Registrant and Motto. Unless otherwise agreed all items will be made in one delivery. The delivery must be received and signed for. Aborted deliveries will be charged $50.00 unless more than 24 hours notice is given. While Motto will make every effort to deliver completed Gift Registries at the time agreed, Motto cannot be held responsible for inconvenience caused by unavoidable delays or the failure by suppliers or delivery companies to deliver on time. 

Delivery -  No Registry - Motto services Downtown Toronto, Midtown, North York Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, and Markham. If the delivery destination is outside these specified areas, additional charges will apply. For original artwork pieces and personalized items, please allow up to 15 days for delivery. For all other products and services, please allow up to 7 days for delivery. 

Breakages - In the event that an item is received from a supplier by Motto damaged in any way, Motto will arrange for the supplier to provide a replacement. If this has not arrived when the list is ready for dispatch, it will be sent separately.

Discontinued or Non-available items - In the event that Motto receives notice that an item is no longer supplied or available by the relevant supplier Motto will: a. if the item has not been purchased, remove it from those Gift Registry on which it features and notify Registrants.
b. if the item has been purchased but Registrants have not yet ordered their gifts, the item will be removed and an equivalent credit made available to be used to purchase an alternative gift during the Gift Registry closing process.
c. if the item is part of a list which has been ordered Motto reserves the right to supply an alternative gift of equivalent or greater value or to provide a credit voucher to facilitate the purchase by Registrants of an alternative gift. Registrants will be notified in all circumstances to discuss the options.

Returns - Unless otherwise stated, all sales are final. 

Quality of goods - When supplying goods to its clients, Motto is acting as an aggregator and delivery service provider. Motto makes no warranty of quality beyond that made by the manufacturer or supplier.

Cancelled events - In the case that an event is cancelled after gifts have been bought Motto will refund the money to Guests in all circumstances. Registrants must notify Motto in writing within 7 days of the event being cancelled that the event has been cancelled. An administration charge of $250 will be charged to the Registrant, which is payable within 30 days of the letter being received by Motto.

Cash Alternative - At no time will money be given to Registrants instead of gifts – if a gift can not be decided on then Registrants will receive a credit note to the value of the gifts until the couple decide on the item they wish to purchase.

Security - www.mottogiftregistry.com considers the security of individually identifiable information to be a serious and important matter. When users submit sensitive information via the website, information is protected both online and off-line. To protect the security of data, Motto web and database servers are hosted in a secured physical and network environment and efforts are made to secure web servers, networks, host operating systems and databases against unauthorized access.

Kitchen Knives – Anyone purchasing knives much be over the age of 16. Identification may be required.

Acceptance - By setting up a Gift Registry with Motto, the Registrants are confirming that they have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them. Motto reserves the right to decline to manage any Gift Registry at any time. If this occurs after goods have been bought from a Gift Registry, Motto will deliver the goods bought and close the relevant Gift Registry.

We reserve the right to amend our Terms and Conditions without prior notice.

Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms and Conditions.
